
Drake buys rights to Top Boy, lands role in the next series
Drake is set to star in the next series of UK drama Top Boy, apparently, after buying the rights to the show.
Drake previously offered to fund a new series of the now-Netflix-based show in 2015, and it turns out he's gone one step further, with The Mirror reporting that the Canadian Anglophile acquired the rights for the show in 2016.
Ashley Walters (the former So Solid Crew member who plays Dushane on the show), revealed in a new interview with the tabloid that producers are trying to figure out a "significant role" for Drake - a successful actor prior to dominating the music world.
"We met up to start talking about the show and we are working out a role for him," Walters said. "He loves acting, of course he wanted a part. He's going to be really hands on and is getting stuck into it."
The acclaimed show, axed by Channel 4 in 2013 after two series, is due to make a comeback in 2018, with Skepta also reportedly on board behind the scenes.
