Having recently become “hip-hop’s first billionaire”, Dr. Dre looks set to achieve another great feat: receiving the keys to the city of Compton.
The Californian-born rapper recently sold his Beats electronic company to Apple for a whopping $3 billion, with TMZ now reporting that Compton mayor Aja Brown is to honour Dre for his “entrepreneurial spirit”. Brown is reportedly hoping that the MC/producer will “help her restore the city” by “sponsoring performance arts or music programs in Compton”.
