Donald Glover and Phoebe Waller-Bridge confirmed for new Mr & Mrs Smith Amazon series
Donald Glover and Phoebe Waller-Bridge will reunite as the stars of Amazon's new series based on 2005's Mr & Mrs Smith film with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.
Mr & Mrs Smith was first released in 2005, and over the weekend it was confirmed that Donald Glover and Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge would star in a new series based on the film by Amazon Prime.
Glover and Waller-Bridge last worked together on 2018's Solo: A Star Wars Story, with Glover starring as Lando Calrissian and Waller-Bridge as L3-37.
The new reboot will also see Glover and Waller-Bridge acting as executive producers for the series, which is due to be released next year. According to Variety, Fargo writer and producer Francesca Sloan will co-create the new series.
As The Guardian notes, Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios, said, "Talk about the dream team! Donald and Phoebe are two of the most talented creators and performers in the world. It’s truly a dream for us, as it will be for our global audience, to have these two forces of nature collaborating as a powerhouse creative team. Mr and Mrs Smith is an iconic property, and we can’t wait to see how Donald, Phoebe and Francesca make it their own."
