Donae'O updates "Party Hard" anthem to celebrate Thomas Partey signing to Arsenal
Donae'O has updated his 2009 anthem "Party Hard" to include lyrics relating to Thomas Partey, the Ghanaian footballer that joined Arsenal earlier this month.
Partey joined Arsenal on the last day of the transfer window (5 October) after paying his paying his £45.3million release clause, and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta revealed this week that his fitness is up to scratch, which could mean he might make his Arsenal debut tomorrow (17 October) against Manchester City.
To celebrate the signing, Donae'O has updated his 2009 anthem "Party Hard" to feature lyrics about Partey. The updated song was shared by Arsenal Fan TV, and sees Donae'O and the AFTV crew dancing and celebrating Arsenal's latest addition outside the Emirates Stadium.
Donae'O says of the new version, "I’m of Ghanaian heritage, an Arsenal fan and the song I’m probably best known for is "Party Hard", so when the club announced Thomas Partey’s signing, it was just serendipitous really. They posted a video of his highlights, I added the original version of "Party Hard" over the top and it just blew up on socials. Next thing I know, Arsenal themselves are retweeting, friends from all over the world are hitting me up, people back in Ghana were getting crazy excited and Thomas himself has been in touch."
He adds, "When Jeremy Lynch (F2 Freestylers) and Arsenal Fan TV got on board to make a proper Thomas Partey special version of the song for fun it felt like the good vibes just kept on rolling. Everyone came together on such positivity, we pulled the shoot together in a matter of days, and just rocked up outside Emirates with some dancer friends, a camera and filmed - no real plan just good energy. And obviously, we wanted to get it out before Thomas’ potential debut this weekend."
