Dolly Parton "honored and flattered" by Lil Nas X's "Jolene" cover
Dolly Parton has praised Lil Nas X's recent cover of her huge hit "Jolene", saying she's "honored and flattered".
Last week Lil Nas X covered Parton's "Jolene" as part of his BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge set, which also included performances of his MONTERO tracks "Montero (Call Me By Your Name)", "Dead Right Now" and "That's What I Want".
On Twitter last night (29 September), Parton reposted Lil Nas X's cover and praised it. She wrote, "I was so excited when someone told me that Lil Nas X had done my song #Jolene. I had to find it and listen to it immediately…and it's really good. Of course, I love him anyway. I was surprised and I'm honored and flattered. I hope he does good for both of us. Thank you Lil Nas X."
