Doja Cat is launching her own NFT marketplace called Juicy Drops
Doja Cat is jumping on the NFT trend by launching her own marketplace called Juicy Drops, which will host her debut NFT collection landing tomorrow (23 April).
As Billboard reports, Juicy Drops marketplace is a collaboration with NFT-focused company Intellctable Holdings, which was founded by 20-year music executive Shannon Schlappi (Eventbrite, Doomtree Records).
Doja Cat's NFT marketplace will launch its first NFT drop tomorrow, which is a collection from Doja Cat made with toy designer BOOMTRONIC that will be inspired by her performance at the 2021 Grammys.
UPROXX notes that the collection will feature 3-D digital graphics with a spinning, metallic Doja image, as well as an image of her cat Raymus.
There'll be six different colours available in various tiers and prices, and those who buy all six variations will be in with a chance of getting a very rare "Mystery" tier that won't be up for sale.
Doja Cat said of the marketplace, "I’m helping to launch my NFT company so that I can actually own and control my art. I want to be able to make all decisions related to my creative vision and help other artists do the same. My ownership also allows me to direct how we can give back to causes that I truly believe in."
Her new business venture comes just weeks after Doja Cat collaborated with SZA on her first Planet Her album single "Kiss Me More".
