DJ White Shadow says he's messaged Lady Gaga after petition to release ARTPOP Act II gains traction
DJ White Shadow, who produced Lady Gaga's 2013 album ARTPOP, has revealed he's sent a text to Lady Gaga after a petition for Gaga to release ARTPOP Act II was launched, which has since passed 25,000 signatures.
ARTPOP was released in 2013 as the follow up to Gaga's 2011 album Born This Way, and a few days ago a petition was launched for the release of ARTPOP Act II, after DJ White Shadow told a fan to "petition Gaga on that one" after being asked if ARTPOP Act II will ever be released.
The petition has gained over 25,000 signatures since launching a few days ago, and yesterday (4 April) DJ White Shadow uploaded a statement on Instagram discussing ARTPOP, and it also saw him mention that he's "sent LG a text".
In the Instagram post, the producer revealed that "Making music and delivering it the way ARTPOP was made and delivered was particularly difficult". He went on to compare it to "skydiving" and being "stuck in a free fall for what seems like forever", and later added that he had "never been so broken as a human being the day when that record was turned in." He also shared that until last year he had still been "trying to undo the trauma of completing that phase of my life."
DJ White Shadow went on to write, "While I want you to hear the "extras" that you guys want to hear, I would also like to make you some new things. I am 100x better at what I do now, and am at an all time creative high. I have eliminated all the dirty rat fucks that were in my life and have surrounded myself with joy and love. I am ready to get back in. I am ready, and whenever LG is, we can get after it."
He urged fans to be "nice to her", and wrote that he "will continue to push for those songs you want so badly, that LG and I did, and I hope you will get to hear them. Don't let them die. Continue to get your message to the people in charge. You have the power, don't give up."
