Back in April, Chicago producer DJ Rashad passed away at the young age of 35. It was originally thought that the footwork pioneer died of a blood clot, but an autopsy has now confirmed a drug overdose to be the real cause of Rashad’s death.
As NBC Chicago reports, an autopsy found heroin, cocaine and Xanax in the musician’s system at the time of his passing. His death has been ruled non-suspicious and accidental.
A frontrunner in the city’s footwork scene, Rashad signed to London imprint Hyperdub for his last album Double Cup. He was found dead at his Chicago home on 26 April.
