Dizzee Rascal shuts down Piers Morgan after he attempts to talk about Black Lives Matter
Dizzee Rascal shut down Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain earlier today (23 June) after he tried to question the rapper about Black Lives Matter.
The Raskit rapper appeared on Good Morning Britain earlier today, and was determined to stay on the topic of the recently announced Utilita Live From The Drive-In show series which Dizzee Rascal will perform at.
Host Piers Morgan decided to ask Dizzee Rascal to articulate what Black Lives Matter means, to which the rapper replied, "What makes you think I know?"
Morgan responds, "I don't know, because you're a black man?", resulting in Dizzee Rascal replying, "Am I the black spokesperson?"
When Morgan prods Dizzee Rascal about his views, the rapper says, "Have I got views? I've got a bunch of views, but it's early if i'm honest."
The host asks the rapper again, saying his "view matters", resulting in Dizzee Rascal replying, "I know it does. But today we're talking about the Drive-In, and I hope this ain't a missed opportunity to speak up on a lot of the badness that's been happening, but it's really nice and sunny outside today and I can't really be bothered to be on this this morning."
"You're a high profile black man in this country and it's a huge issue and has been on the news for the past four weeks," responds Morgan, prompting the rapper to reply, "I've watched you on telly and you never let no-one speak. You're not going to do that to me mate, not this morning. Let's keep it calm, I'm just saying yeah, I've got a bunch of views but right now is not the time."
The two go back and forth over the rapper sharing his opinion, leading Dizzee Rascal to tell Morgan that he can't force him to share his opinion, resulting in Morgan saying, "You reacted very aggressively to a polite question!" Dizzee replies, "This is what happens as well, I become the aggressive black man. Oi leave me alone."
