Dirty Hit address "inappropriate behaviour" accusations made against video director in new statement
Over the weekend Dirty Hit published a statement responding to accusations of "inappropriate behaviour" made against a video director who has previously worked on projects with the label.
Back in March a freelance video director who has previously worked on projects for Dirty Hit artists was accused of predatory, manipulative and misogynistic behaviour from 2017 online, and over the weekend Dirty Hit published a statement on Instagram responding to the allegations, revealing they "instructed an independent specialist security and investigation company to examine all the available evidence."
The full statement from the label, which doesn't name the director, reads: "We were shocked to learn of accusations being made against a freelance video director for inappropriate behaviour. Following this, Dirty Hit instructed an independent specialist security and investigation company to examine all the available evidence. We have not been able to publicly say anything before as it would have been wrong of us to pre-empt the outcome of the investigation.
The investigation has not uncovered any criminal behaviour but regardless of the outcome Dirty Hit (or any of our artists) no longer work with the director in question. We do not condone behaviour of this nature and we cannot standby and ignore these allegations. We care deeply about the Dirty Hit family and understand everyone has the right to feel safe at our gigs. This is a moment to affirm our values of inclusiveness and strengthen our commitment to creating the safest possible environment for fans of any of the acts we work with.” Dirty Hit did not name the director in the statement."
