DIIV will reenact your dreams for $10,000 as part of theatre project fundraiser
Ever wanted a band to act at your bidding? If you can dream it, now it can happen. For the low price of $10,000 DIIV will act out your dreams in order to raise funds for theatre project Houseworld.
"Immersive theatre performance" Houseworld is a project curated by Andrew Hoepfner that transports its audience on their own journey through a historic Brooklyn mansion, interacting with characters that each represent "a different facet of the human psyche".
The project is raising funds for its second season via Kickstarter, where for $10,000 the reward is detailed as: "describe a dream you've had. When you attend this coming season of Houseworld, your dream will be reenacted for you by the band DIIV". Three of these experiences are avaliable.
DIIV took to twitter to explain that "the money has nothing to do with us. It's to raise money for our friends public theater project." The band explained the cost further, stating that "Houseworld is trying to raise $30k. $10k may seem absurd for us to re-enact yr dream, but its more an investment in making Houseworld open and available to the public. It was more a publicity grab to draw attention to Houseworld than us thinking our time is worth $10k".
DIIV recently announced their long-awaited second album Is The Is Are will see release this Autumn. The band will perform at Field Day this weekend (6-7 June), and in Birmingham and Manchester next week.
