DIIV make Oshin demos available on Bandcamp for one day
To coincide with Bandcamp Fridays, DIIV have released the demos from their 2012 debut album Oshin for one day only.
For last month's Bandcamp Fridays, DIIV shared the demos from their most recent album Deceiver for 24 hours, and today (6 November) they've carried it on by making their Oshin demos available just for today.
Lead vocalist Zachary Cole Smith writes of the demos, "NYC in 2010 was a special time and place. I wanted to be a part of it, and these demos represent my attempt at a connection with a larger community. They are the first songs I had ever made on my own, recorded on the floor of the studio arts space where I was secretly living, and as it turned out they were the beginning of a bizarre journey in life, and the formation of a new second family. Thanks to everyone who has supported us throughout the years."
Bandcamp Fridays was first introduced in March at the start of the coronavirus pandemic, and saw the company waive its revenue shares on all sales across the site for 24 hours to help artists earn money during the pandemic. In July Bandcamp decided to continue the initiative on the first Friday of every month for the rest of 2020.
