Diet Cig announce debut album Swear I'm Good At This, share new single "Tummy Ache"
It's been two years since Diet Cig first catured our hearts with their debut EP Over Easy. At long last their debut album is finally imminent.
After teasing on social media that their first full-length could be expected this spring, the duo from New Paltz, New York have announced that Swear I’m Good At This will be released in April.
To commemorate the announcement, the band have shared a brand new single in the form of "Tummy Ache". Real life tales with a lyrical retelling meet driving rhythms and strident guitar riffs to present the band at their biggest and boldest yet. If this is clear indication of what's the follow, then we're sure as hell in for a treat.
"'Tummy Ache' is all about unpacking the feeling of approaching punk with radical softness," the duo say of the track, "and the struggle when it's not always read as powerful or cool or whatever enough. It's the shout into my pillow when what I'm saying isn't being heard, and a big old 'I FEEL YA' to all the femme folks creating space for themselves in a world that wants to keep us quiet."
