Dev Hynes, aka Blood Orange, has released a new piano improvisation based on a composition by Julius Eastman.
Hynes first performed his improvisation of Eastman's 1979 "Evil N*****" piece during FORM and Jammcard's Black Power Live virtual festival last month.
Today (29 July), Hynes has released the six-and-a-half-minute piano piece on streaming services. Watch the video performance from Black Power Live below.
"Evil N*****" is Hynes' first new release since last year's score for Queen & Slim.
A couple of days ago Hynes shared a snippet of new music via Instagram.
Devonté Hynes' improvisation of Julius Eastman's "Evil N*****" is available on streaming services now.
