Destroyer announce world tour and new album Poison Season
Canadian rock band Destroyer have announced details of their new album, Poison Season, due for release on 27 August. Following the release of the album the band will embark on a world tour.
In addition to the album/tour announcement, the band have also placed new song “Dream Lover” online, and it's available to stream at the bottom of the page.
Destroyer have also revealed the release of a two-song 12" as a companion to the new album, including a remix of “Forces From Above” and the orchestral “Times Square, Poison Season” - a song that inspired many tracks on the new album.
Frontman Dan Bejar explained: “The first and last songs are actually one song tracked live with a quintet. That song always swung between super austere and super mid-'70s Springsteen/Bowie street-rock. In the end, I decided I wanted both. Couldn't really figure out a way to sequence the orchestral version within the record, so I decided to carve it up as a book-ending motif, with the rock version squarely in the middle.”
Destroyer tour new album Poison Season through the UK in October/November, at the following venues:
October
30 – Islington Assembly Hall, London
31 – The Haunt, Brighton
November
1 – Brudenell Social Club, Leeds
2 – The Lantern, Bristol
