Depeche Mode's Dave Gahan and Soulsavers to cover Neil Young, PJ Harvey and more on new album
Dave Gahan of Depeche Mode has announced a new covers album called Imposter with Soulsavers, and it'll featured reimagined versions of songs by Neil Young, PJ Harvey and more.
Imposter, announced today (4 October), will be accompanied by a single this Friday (8 October), which will see Gahan and Soulsavers cover Cat Power's "Metal Heart".
The 12-track album will also feature reimagined versions of songs by Neil Young, Bob Dylan, PJ Harvey, Charlie Chaplin. Mark Lanegan and more.
Speaking about the record, Gahan said, "When I listen to other people’s voices and songs - more importantly the way they sing them and interpret the words - I feel at home. I identify with it. It comforts me more than anything else. There’s not one performer on the record who I haven’t been moved by. I know we made something special, and I hope other people feel that and it takes them on a little kind of trip - especially people who love music and have for years."
