Deerhunter announce new record Fading Frontier, share lead single "Snakeskin"
Deerhunter have announced their seventh record Fading Frontier, and have shared the video for its lead track "Snakeskin", featuring Zumi Rosow on the treated alto sax.
The band had been teasing the record's release over the weekend with a countdown timer on their website.
Valentina Tapia has directed the visuals for "Snakeskin", which see frontman Bradford Cox playing with his dog (and a skull) amidst a glut of projected patterns. Special thanks has been given to Cole Alexander, presumably of the Black Lips, but his contribution's not immediately obvious.
As well as the group's four founding members, Stereolab's Tim Gane, James Cargill of Broadcast, and Rosow all lend their hands to the fray. Ben H. Allen III has also returned to co-produce alongside Deerhunter.
Fading Frontier is released via 4AD on 16 October. It follows 2013's Monomania.
Deerhunter have also announced a brief UK/EU tour for this autumn.
