Deerhoof's Big Top set at End Of The Road goes down a storm - with the newer offerings from the group sparkling especially brightly.
"I Will Spite Survive" - the band's collab with Wye Oak's Jenn Wasner (sadly not in attendance) - is a dazzling highlight from the indie veterans, with the dramatic melodies and twinkling licks charming a particularly damp Big Top crowd.
As well as a sharpened arsenal of tracks from their latest record Mountain Moves and their extensive back catalogue, Deerhoof find time to give thanks across the board (even the lighting crew get a nod). Somehow Deerhoof manage to be down to earth and totally outta this world all at once.
Early bird tickets for End of the Road 2018 go on sale Tuesday 5 September. Keep an eye on endoftheroadfestival.com for updates.
