Death Grips’ tensions with their former imprint Epic Records is well known. After leaking their album NO LOVE DEEP WEB, they severed ties altogether. And now the logical next step has happened: they’ve started their own label.
The project is called Thirdworlds and is described in a press release as: “the band’s own label imprint created via a very unique relationship with Harvest /Capitol, to be distributed by Caroline.”
The first expected release will be a new Death Grips album, tentatively due in 2014. But the band might even want to release NO LOVE DEEP WEB itself, as they’ve also – somehow – managed to retain its rights from Epic.
