Death Grips cover to appear on album by TV choirmaster Gareth Malone
-
Gareth Malone, amiable celebrity choirmaster and friend to military wives everywhere, has revealed that his new album entitled Voices will include a Death Grips cover.
Produced by David Kosten, the album is the product of a UK-wide rousing call to arms, complete with Lord Kitchener-esque ‘Your choirmaster needs YOU’ posters, encouraging choristers aged 18-25 to partake in a musical venture that’s “fresh, modern and utterly unique”.
‘Guillotine’ is the album’s first release, with the album elsewhere reportedly boasting a mix of hardcore rap, rock and R&B covers, including versions of songs by Fleet Foxes and Alicia Keys. Malone told The Independent to expect “a choir sounding very different from how you’d expect”, yet “still distinctly a British Choral sound”.
