Death Cab for Cutie working on new material, Ben Gibbard to release split with Built to Spill bassist
Death Cab For Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard has confirmed via Twitter that his band is working on new material.
This was revealed after a fan tweeted his frustration about Ben Gibbard’s recent two track collaboration with Built to Spill bassist Brett Nelson on early Death Cab material.
Gibbard tweeted this:
THIS IS HAPPENING! Do not fear. RT @brianfulda: I wish @dcfc would just return to what they do best – writing songs together.

The aforementioned collaboration is part of a project called the Electronic Anthology Project, which also features Built to Spill and Dinosaur Jr. remakes with an electronic twist. It will be released digitally on 2 July, and subsequently on 7″ colored vinyl.
