Daughters of Reykjavík among artists competing to represent Iceland at Eurovision 2022
It's been revealed that Daughters of Reykjavík are among the 10 entries for Söngvakeppnin, which will decide who will represent Iceland at this year's Eurovision Song Contest.
This year's Söngvakeppnin entries will be split across two semi-finals on 26 February and 5 March, and Daughters of Reykjavïk are among the 2022 contestants alongside Amarosis, Stefán Óli, Haffi Haff, Stefanía Svavarsdóttir, Sigga, Beta and Elín, Markéta Irglová, SUNCITY & SANNA, Katla, and Hanna Mia and The Astrotourists.
Public votes will determine who moves forward from the semi-finals, and there's also a "potential wildcard entry decided by Söngvakeppnin’s executive committee."
The Söngvakeppnin final is due to take place on 12 March, and will be decided through televotes and an international jury. The winner will represent Iceland at this year's Eurovision Song Contest, which is due to take place in Turin, Italy in May.
Last year's Eurovision saw Iceland's Daði Freyr and Gagnamagnið place fourth, while Italy's Måneskin won.
