Darwin Deez reveals "Last Cigarette" from upcoming LP Double Down
Jangly-pop purveyor Darwin Deez has revealed a new track called "Last Cigarette" from his upcoming record Double Down.
Speaking about the track, Deez says: “'Last Cigarette' is a song about procrastination at its core. Everybody knows smoking is bad for you but they do it anyway. There's something very human about that, and you also see it happen in co-dependent relationships all the time. This song applies to my relationship with girls, not to my actual relationship to smoking. It’s the people we know are bad choices that are the hardest to resist.”
Double Down is out on Lucky Number on 18 September. It follows Deez's sophomore album Songs For Imaginative People.
