D'Angelo's Red Dead Redemption 2 track "Unshaken" is finally out
D'Angelo's "Unshaken", that featured on Rockstar's highly-anticipated Red Dead Redemption 2 game, is finally available to download and stream.
On 26 October 2018 Red Dead Redemption 2 landed, providing gamers the chance to revisit an immense virtual western world, eight years on from the original, which landed back in 2010.
The soundtrack for the western game included a new offering from D'Angelo, called "Unshaken", which was available exclusively to the game-players until today.
Ivan Pavlovich, Director of Music and Audio at Rockstar Games, explained to Rolling Stone that D'angelo got involved by simply being a massive fan of the game, “He would come in here [Rockstar’s New York city office] and just play the game. We weren’t even talking about doing music. When D’Angelo comes through, he shows up at midnight, and he’s playing the game until four in the morning. Each time he was just like, ‘it’s incredible.’ It just blows his mind. He’s such a fan. I have never seen someone that excited.”
"Unshaken" is D'Angelo's first new track since 2014's surprise Black Messiah record.
Other contributions across the Red Dead Redemption 2 soundtrack include Willie Nelson, Josh Homme, Nas, and Rhiannon Giddens.
