Dalton announces self-titled debut album, airs new track "What Never Should End"
L.A.'s Dalton has announced the release of his self-titled debut record, out 23 February via Fierce Panda. He's also kindly lobbed out another stellar tune into the world's gaping maw "What Never Should End".
The track is doused in fuzzy clamour and lo-fi grit, like a coarse sandpaper. Unlike sandpaper, there's core of gooey innards that make it very human and very relatable - think Ty Segall, Mikal Cronin or similar ilk.
Real name Nate Harar, Dalton explains his aims and his sound in a prepared statement:
"The best songs are the ones that come out of you and sound so natural that you think, 'I hope nobody's written this before'; usually if you're struggling with a song for a long time, it's not worth it... I'd describe my music as maybe ‘no frills’. Stripped-down and unapologetic’. It’s always hard to peg oneself but I do like to think that I'm anti the whole "rock n roll" image stereotype. That whole lifestyle seems so calculated and boring to me. I can't really be bothered with it. Who cares about all that other stuff?"
