Daft Punk to release 10 minute remix of 'Get Lucky' next month
As previously reported, Daft Punk are to rework a number of their own Random Access Memories tracks for an upcoming remix series. The first of those, it appears, will be a 10 minute-long rejig of lead single ‘Get Lucky’.
As DIY point out, the release is already available to pre-order on a French website, with a due date cited as 15 July. The remix is 10mins 31secs in full, to be exact, over double the running time of the 4 minute original.
One half of the French duo, Thomas Bangalter recently told BBC Radio 1′s Pete Tong over their intentions to release a series of in-house reworkings.
“We’re working on some mixes ourselves. So, yes, there will probably be Daft Punk mixes of Daft Punk. Usually, we never mix ourselves, that’s something we feel we’re interested in doing this time.”
