Premiering music in SNL ad breaks, hiring out the Shard building in London, sending masks to half of the music industry, throwing an album launch party at an agricultural convention in Australia. What other wacky things could Daft Punk come up with to promote their recently-released new record? How about putting their name to a race car? Yep, that might just about do it.
And that’s very much what Columbia Records have done, sponsoring Formula 1 team Lotus at the Monaco Grand Prix. The French electronic pair even made an appearance in a promotional clip.
