Daft Punk set to break album streaming record
After their single ‘Get Lucky’ broke first day streaming records when it was released last month, Daft Punk now look set to do not only the same with their album Random Access Memories, but to smash the entire first week record too.
Tech site The Next Web report that the current record is held by Mumford & Sons for Babel, but that the French electronic duo are nearing that mark of 8 million with days remaining. This is quite a feat considering Daft Punk streamed the record over at iTunes a week prior to its official release.
It’ll also accumulate to what will be the music streaming platform’s most busy week since their launch five years back. Read out review of Random Access Memories here.
