Daft Punk score UK number one album, The National third in charts
A busy week of releases last week resulting in a number of new entries riding high in the charts over the weekend, with Daft Punk claiming their first number one album in the UK.
The French electronic duo topped the UK Albums Chart with recent LP Random Access Memories, with three other releases also charting in the Top 100: Discovery (#29), Homework (#63) and Musique Vol 1 (#67).
Meanwhile, The National achieved a top three album for 4AD, with Trouble Will Find Me charting at #3. This beat new releases from the likes of 30 Seconds To Mars, Texas and Jamie Cullum – all also in the Top 20.
Muse’s latest album The 2nd Law rose 100 places to 51st place in conjunction with their dates at London’s Emirate Stadium over the Bank Holiday.
