Daði Freyr reveals team member has tested positive for COVID-19
Iceland's 2021 Eurovision contestant Daði Freyr has revealed that his appearance at the semi-finals on Thursday (20 May) could be at risk after one of his team members tested positive for COVID-19.
The 2021 Eurovision Song Contest is taking place this week, with the semi-finals taking place tomorrow (18 May) and Thursday (20 May) before the grand final in Rotterdam on Saturday (22 May).
Yesterday (16 May), Daði Freyr, who was reselected to represent Iceland at this year's competition with "10 Years" after last year's Eurovision was cancelled due to the pandemic, revealed that a member from the Icelandic team tested positive for the virus.
He wrote on Twitter, "A member from the icelandic team tested positive for covid-19 today. Gagnamagnið just got tested again and we are on our way to the hotel to wait for the results. We are feeling healthy and crossing our fingers that we will get to perform on Thursday. Thanks for the support."
