DaBaby was dropped by Lollapalooza after failing to deliver video apology
It's been revealed that DaBaby was dropped from the Lollapalooza 2021 line-up after failing to deliver a video apology for his homophobic comments.
Over the past week the rapper has been dropped from the line-ups of Lollapalooza, Governors Ball, Day N Vegas, iHeartRadio Music Festival, Music Midtown and Austin City Limits, and now it's been reported that he lost out on his Lollapalooza slot after not delivering a video apology in time.
DaBaby said some homophobic comments while addressing the crowd during his Rolling Loud Miami performance last month, telling attendees without HIV or AIDS to "put your cellphone light up."
He attempted to apologise for his comments on socials last month, and earlier this week he finally uploaded a statement which saw him apologise for "the hurtful and triggering comments" he made at Rolling Loud.
Billboard has since reported that representatives for DaBaby reached out to seven festivals that the rapper was due to perform at, saying a video apology was on the way.
The video was due to be played before DaBaby took the stage at Lollapalooza on Sunday (1 August), but on the day of his scheduled appearance at the Chicago festival, the video was still nowhere to be found, leading Lollapalooza organisers to announce his removal from the line-up. He was replaced by Young Thug.
