D.D Dumbo shares EP details and UK tour dates
Australian popsmith Oliver Hugh Perry - who sails under the D.D Dumbo flag - is to release his 4AD debut, the Tropical Oceans EP, in October.
His track "Tropical Oceans [Oak Forest Version]" combines hollow tribal echoes, red-raw vocals and acoustic guitar flutters akin to the mating ritual of a Monarch butterfly. Perry is adept at fusing minimalist pop with lashings of pedalboard effects and faint flecks of world folk such as "African desert blues, Tanzanian ilimba and transcendental Tuvan melody."
