CuckooLander releases new EP featuring Danielle Haim on Charli XCX's label
London-based artist CuckooLander has unveiled a new EP featuring HAIM's Danielle Haim, with production from ex-Vampire Weekend star Rostam Batmanglij.
CuckooLander, aka Dorset-raised Holly Hardy, is following up last year's "Beating Myself Up", 2015 single "Mother Nature", and her debut 2014 EP (also self-titled).
"I wrote and recorded my first EP alongside playing bass for Charli XCX," says Hardy. "While we were on tour, Charli and her tour manager Wilkie were basically the first people to ever hear my music. I was over the moon that Charli liked it and took me under her wing to help me release my music."
"[It's a] song about devotion," adds Hardy of her new EP's lead track "Crazier", which features Haim. "To me that means the good and the bad. People in relationships can drive each other fucking crazy sometimes but if it really is love, and you are devoted to one another, you don’t give up even if one of you isn’t showing their best selves."
