Crushed Beaks stream debut LP Scatter exclusively via Best Fit
London trio Crushed Beaks are streaming their debut LP Scatter in full exclusively on Best Fit ahead of its release next Monday (9 February).
Matt Poile, Alex Morris and Scott Bowley "quickly bonded over a love of trashy rock and slasher B-movies" and caused a bit of a ruckus on the live circuit with their frenetic and electric live performances. They've managed to translate that to wax with aplomb, creating an anthology of bruised-rib, scraped-knee indie-rock that'll force you to move.
Dissecting the album in our 7/10 review, James Appleyard said:
"With Scatter, Crushed Beaks let you know they’re intent on having a good time, and want to make sure you do, too. The intensity may curtail towards the end, but the band more than make up for it with an album that has a core of bulldozer guitar lines and assaulting drums, all of which carry with them the promise of the best house party you’ve ever been to."
Scatter is released by the band's own Matilda Records on 9 February, and you can pre-order it here.
Crushed Beaks will also play a couple of dates to celebrate the release: 9 February at London's Sebright Arms, and Rough Trade East on 11 February.
