Crowdsourcing project funding new Sparklehorse documentary
A Kickstarter-style project is attempting to raise £10,000 to fund a new Sparklehorse documentary film.
Entitled The Sad & Beautiful World of Sparklehorse, the movie aims to “preserve the legacy” of Mark Linkous, who committed suicide back in 2010.
The documentary is headed by Alex Crowton and Balwant Dass, two close friends of Linkous’. Their press release states that the project will “explore the theme that mental illness is allied to creativity, using Linkous as an example of why highly creative people seem to suffer from severe psychiatric illness, especially Bipolar disorder.”
The pair have so far shot interviews with the likes of Mercury Rev and Metric and are raising money to continue shooting in Europe and the U.S.
The total pledges only stand at £400, but you can add to it here.
