Crowdfunding page set up for donations to The Scott Hutchison Fund
A Crowdfunding page has been launched for donations to The Scott Hutchison Fund while the charity is being set up.
In May 2018, Frightened Rabbit's Scott Hutchison died by suicide. Since his passing the remaining band members, family, and friends have been hosting multiple events to pay tribute to the late musician, and raise awareness on mental health.
Last month the band shared the full recordings of their December 2018 New York tribute show, where members of Death Cab For Cutie, Broken Social Scene, The National, The Hold Steady, Julien Baker, and more performed covers of Frightened Rabbit songs.
Now the band have set up a Crowdfunding page which will be the temporary location for donations towards The Scott Hutchison Fund. The Crowdfunding page description states, "The Scott Hutchison Fund is a fund set up by Scott's family which will form the basis for a mental health charity that will be set up and launched in 2019."
The page also states, "In May 2018 Scott Hutchison took his own life after years of battling with depression and mental illness. Through his band Frightened Rabbit so many people were profoundly affected by Scott and his art and the fundraising efforts have been incredible since last year. This page will serve as a temporary location for donations until the charity is set up and ready to be launched later in the year."
