Crack Magazine launches new Three Minutes scheme for aspiring music video directors
Crack Magazine has announced details of their new Three Minutes scheme for aspiring music video directors, open to any unsigned director aged 26 or under.
The incubator scheme will see panelists choose five directors who will proceed to create fully-funded music videos through Three Minutes.
Directors that want to apply will need to create a short pitch/treatment for a track selected by Crack Magazine. Applicants will also need to provide a personal statement alongside a portfolio of two to three previous projects. Crack Magazine urges applicants to express their creative aspirations, as well as detailing obstacles they’ve experienced throughout their directing careers so far, which will be taken into account by the panelists.
The scheme is launched by Crack Magazine in conjunction with its production company Ground Work, with support from Burberry, the BFI NETWORK and audio brand Shure.
Panelists for the Three Minutes scheme include a wide range of acclaimed directors, cinematographers, artists and more, including Flohio, Pulse Films director Oscar Hudson (Bonobo and Nick Murphy's "No Reason", Radiohead's "Lift"), director Kaylum Dennis (Dave and Burna Boy's "Location", Tion Wayne, Dutchavelli and Stormzy's "I Dunno"), BSC/ISC cinematographer Robbie Ryan (Nick Cave's Idiot Prayer, The Favourite, American Honey), cinematographer Olan Collardy (Octavian's "Rari", RAYE's "Natalie Don't", Glowie's "Unlovable"), and more.
