Courtney Love to release new solo album, posts advert on the internet for bassist
Following her 2010 reunion album with Hole, it seems like Courtney Love wants to go it alone for a while. Or at least just under her own name.
“I do hate doing the oldies though and all the shit I get for calling it Hole,” she recently wrote on her Facebook page. “So I’m just going to call it Courtney Love and get on with it.”
Curiously the album, which CoS say is going by the working title of Died Blonde, includes a lot of the same musicians as on Hole’s comeback LP Nobody’s Daughter, but sans bassist.
Instead, Love has recently scouted U.S online bulletin board Craigslist for a replacement. “I put an ad on Craigslist that said, ‘Band in the style of Hole looking for bassist in the style of Melissa Auf der Maur.’ I got exactly one response. There’s just not a lot of chick bass players,” she told Bust.
It’s not yet known when aforementioned new album will be released.
