CLOVES releases cover of Charli XCX and Christine and the Queens' "Gone"
CLOVES has added her own spin to Charli XCX's huge Christine and the Queens collaboration "Gone".
"Gone" was originally released in July 2019 as a single from Charli XCX's Charli album, and marked the debut collaboration between Charli XCX and Christine and the Queens.
Last Friday (11 December) CLOVES released a cover of "Gone" as a gift for fans ahead of her next single "SICKO" that's due for release next month.
CLOVES wrote of the cover last week, "I'm so excited to be releasing my album next year sooooo excited to release my next single "SICKO" in Jan (Ill let you know the date sooooon promise) and loads more visuals to share. I really wanted to do something for you in the meantime, a pre Christmas break moment, so I’m gonna drop a cover of "GONE" by Charli XCX and Christine and the Queens tomorrow, thought it would be cute for us to have pre Christmas, plus I [love] them both so much as artists."
She added in a press release, "Both Charli and Christine express themselves directly so perfectly, like it was their first thought & feeling, that to me is the most purest form of expression and why I wanted to cover this song. The line "I feel so unstable fucking hate these people" is a line I relate hard to!"
Her cover of "Gone" follows October's "Dead" single.
