Chastity Belt share mellow new track "Elena"
Chastity Belt have shared new single "Elena", the second to be lifted from their forthcoming self-titled album.
"Elena" follows on from last month's lead offering "Ann's Jam".
Speaking about the new single, bassist Annie Truscott explains, "Over the past year, we all read and loved Elena Ferrante’s Neapolitan novels. We individually related to the ways in which the main character’s sense of self is inextricably linked to her desire for love and validation both from lovers and friends. The overlapping voices on top of the whimsical wave-like instrumentals captures the universal feeling of having a conversation with yourself about yourself."
Chastity Belt's self-titled album will be their first since 2017's I Used to Spend So Much Time Alone.
Vocalist Julia Shapiro says of their new album, "I feel like this record is a really good representation of who we all are, and I feel like we're at a point where we've really come into our own. We're more us than ever."
In June Shapiro released her debut solo record Perfect Vision.
