Charli XCX to release debut album in “April or May”
Charli XCX has confirmed that her debut LP should be ready for a spring release.
Speaking in an interview with Billboard magazine, the singer has affirmed that the full-length should drop in “April or May”.
And while Ariel Rechtshaid (Usher, Glasser) is the official producer of her upcoming release, the singer also reveals that she’s been recording with Andrew Wyatt of Miike Snow and Clams Casino.
Regarding the latter producer, Charli says:
“He’s one of my favorite producers and I love the sound that he makes — it’s so luscious, angelic, and kind of drugged out at the same time. We did the session and the stuff that we got sounded really cool. We haven’t finished yet. I never know until it’s at least finished, and I have like five weeks to listen to that one song on repeat and then I’m like, ‘I know, it’s going to be Track 5 on the album!’”
The English electronic musician has also stated that she’s working on a new music video, which is “going to use all these film samples from my favorite films, like ‘The Craft,’ ‘Clueless’ and ‘Carrie’.”
