Charles Watson unveils new track "All My Mountains"
Charles Watson has delivered a fourth outing from his YES album titled "All My Mountains".
"All My Mountains" is the fourth track to be lifted fromm Watson's new solo album YES, following "Beauty Contest", "Figure Skater" and "Afghan Hound".
Watson says of the new single, ""All My Mountains" is about trying to be present. It’s about not focussing of the monoliths of our past but the tiny moments that happen in front of you every second. I wanted it to sound loose and raggedy. I did a load of versions of this song but the final one has samples from all of them. Bit like a horrible quilt in a spare room. There’s Melloton from the Soup Studios by Fyfe Dangerfield, there’s dictaphone tape slammed phillicorda organ and loads of acoustics from my studio recorded one summers evening with the window open…..you can hears the birds contently singing over the rumble of the A1406. We did the vocals at Strong Rooms with Rozi Plane, Rosa Slade Katy Young, Susie Merry and Naomi Hammerton. I wanted vocals it to sound like a 10 Grace Slick’s singing straight into an empty swimming pool. I think we got kinda close."
YES will follow Watson's 2018 debut solo record Now That I'm A River.
