Chance The Rapper gets shout out from Anita Baker for helping her acquire master recordings
The legendary Anita Baker thanked Chance The Rapper at her Sunday night (May 29) Las Vegas show for helping her regain control of her master recordings.
The Chicago rapper attended Baker's Las Vegas show on Sunday (29 May), and Baker took a moment show some appreciation for Chance The Rapper, saying that he helped her "get a hold and ownership of my master records."
Baker previously told fans in March 2021 to not "advertise/buy" her albums, and regained control of her master recordings from former label Elektra Records in September last year after reaching an agreement. It's currently not clear exactly what role Chance The Rapper played in helping Baker acquire her master recordings.
After praising Chance The Rapper on stage in Las Vegas on Sunday (29 May), the two artists shared a sweet interaction on Twitter, with Chance The Rapper calling the show "one of THE greatest performances of my LIFETIME".

Baker then responded, writing, "Had no idea you would be in our Midst. Such a nice Surprise. Brought Tears, to my eyes. Hope Ms. Essence enjoyed her Birthday."
Chance The Rapper replied, "WOW the fact that you remembered my friends name AND that it was her birthday just echoes what an INCREDIBLE PERSON you are on top of all that you’ve given artistically. Honored and blessed to call you friend."
