The Mars Volta's Cedric Bixler-Zavala knocks "De-Loused" reissue as "fraud," announces "proper" reissue of early work to come
Today, The Mars Volta’s first album, De-Loused in the Comatorium, saw a reissue from Music On Vinyl, but it appears the band, or at least its frontman, aren’t entirely pleased with this release.
Former Volta-singer Cedric Bixler-Zavala wrote on his Twitter (@cedricbixler_) about the reissue, which features a limited edition gold vinyl pressing: “The gold deloused vinyl is a bootleg.” Going on to note that when The Mars Volta do eventually reissue material it will be of much higher quality (suggesting the possibility of releasing live material down the road as well).
The Mars Volta officially split early last year, but its seemingly inseparable frontmen Cedric Bixler-Zavala and Omar Rodríguez López (who have frequently worked together in some facet since their At the Drive-In days) have recently begun a new project called Antemasque, which will also feature Flea and former Mars Volta touring drummer Dave Elitch.
See Bixler-Zavara’s tweets plus Antemasque’s video for “Drowning All Your Witches” below.

When we do release the early volta records they will be far superior in packaging and we will get the money.

Maybe we will just etch all the personal information of the bootleggers on the vinyl.

Not to mention whatever else Omar has as far as live material which is all recorded. Who knows what we decide but there is so much

Be patient for the releases and I promise they will be worth the wait.

Now as far as @ANTEMASQUE goes our record will make Solange drop kick the fuck outta anybody in any elevator.
