Cat's Eyes return with reworked version of Unloved's "Remember"
Cat's Eyes, the duo made up of Faris Badwan and Rachel Zeffira, have shared their first track in nearly three years, a rework of Unloved's "Remember".
"Remember" was first released on Unloved's recent album Heartbreak.
The melancholic version from Cat's Eyes is their first release since their 2016 album Treasure House.
On the new release, Badwan says, "One of the first times Cat's Eyes met David [Holmes] was while DJing in Belfast at his night, God’s Waiting Room. It’s probably one of the last fun club nights in Britain with the right blend of chaos and great music. Unloved played their first live show that evening."
He adds, "Rachel is really into a spy show called Killing Eve, starring Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer. She was watching it one day thinking how great the score was, when totally unexpectedly a song from our second record called "Girl in the Room" appeared. She discovered that David had supervised the music for the show and included one of our tracks. She wrote to him to say thank you and he responded by asking us to rework one of the songs from the Unloved album. Full of both sonic experimentation and pop hooks, it could be from any era. Jade’s voice has an amazing blend of mystery and intimacy."
