Cass McCombs announces 10th studio album with new cut "Unproud Warrior"
Cass McCombs is back with details of his upcoming 10th studio album Heartmind, and has released new single "Unproud Warrior" to accompany the news.
"Unproud Warrior" is the second outing from McCombs' new album, following April's "Belong to Heaven", and is teamed with a video created by Facing West Shadows. The new song also features additional vocals from Wynonna Judd and Charlie Burnham.
Heartmind will follow McCombs' 2019 album Tip of the Sphere, and was recorded in Brooklyn and Burbank with co-producers Shahzad Ismaily, Buddy Ross and Ariel Rechtshaid. The record also features contributions from Danielle Haim, Cactus Moser, Joe Russo, Kassa Overall, The Chapin Sisters, Frank LoCrasto and Nestor Gomez.
McCombs said of the album, "I made this album as a way to handle the loss of some close friends. Their memories guided me throughout and hopefully they live through the music. Strange to realise, it wasn’t them who were lost, it was me."
