Cardi B responds to backlash from resurfaced video revealing she drugged and robbed men
Cardi B has responded to a resurfaced Instagram Live video from three years ago which reveals she used to drug and rob men when she worked as a stripper.
In the Instagram Live video that resurfaced last weekend, Cardi B was speaking about the things she had to do when working as a stripper, "I drugged n*****s up and I robbed them. That’s what I used to do."The video went viral, leading to Twitter users creating a "#SurvivingCardiB" hashtag trend to speak about the subject.
Cardi B has since responded to the backlash from the video with a lengthy message, where she states, "I never glorified the things I brought up in that live I never even put those things in my music because i'm not proud of it and feel a responsibility not to glorify it. I made the choices that I did at the time because I had very limited options. I was blessed to been able to rise from that but so many women have not. Whether or not they were poor choices at the time I did what I had to do to survive."
She adds, "The men I spoke about in my live were men that I dated and I was involve[d] with [and] men that were conscious willing and aware. I have a past that I can't change we all do."
