SXSW car crash kills 2 people, over 20 injured

Two people are dead and over 20 others are left injured after a car crashed into a crowd outside Mohawk on Red River Street in Austin, Texas during this year’s SXSW festival.
The incident occurred at around 12:30am local time and has been confirmed by the Austin Police Department and Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Service.
At the time of writing this, five of those injured are reported to be in critical condition.
The driver is currently in custody, with The Associated Press reporting the person as being drunk and “fleeing from arrest” at the time of the incident.
