Capac to release new mini-ablum Nested, stream title track now exclusively on Best Fit
Capac, the long-distance electro experimentalists who dropped Pastels to acclaim a few years back, are to release a six-track mini-album, named Nested.
Nested will "[explore] themes of loss and decay in a fractured, fragmented and compartmentalised modern world."
The foursome are also streaming the lead single and title track now exclusively on Best Fit.
It's a violent bout of cruel electronica, with synths burbling like boiling tar underneath a bass thwob that Chromatics would be jealous of. It's faintly funky - the pace and rhythms imbuing the noise with a sense of movement - but this is all but overshadowed by the jittery horrors unfolding in the lyrics: "Jamming their beaks in their eyes/twirling the flesh from their eyes/ripping the meat with their feet/smearing the blood on their cheek/as their eye splutters with jelly..."
"The ravens are coming..." goes the track's mantra, in what appears to be an Edgar Allen Poe nod. "Yes, the ravens are coming..."
Nested comes ahead of the band's debut full-length, currently untitled but due sometime Spring 2015.
