Call Me Loop plans to bring Friday Night Vibes to Monday night during the Five Day Forecast

Georgia Buchanan’s immensely fun strain of pop is a tantalising mesh of candied hooks, boisterous dance-flecked beats, and powerhouse vocal displays to be filed alongside the likes of Rita Ora. As Call Me Loop she’s found a fan in Elton John, worked alongside Little Mix producer Toby Scott, and toured with Jonas Blue - she has a CV to rival the finest, and the potent pop chops to back it all up. "Love The Lie", "Give 'n' Take", and "As If" are all especially fine examples of her craft - it’s early in her career, but Buchanan’s already giving masterclasses in her field each time she drops a track.

Could you introduce yourselves for us please?
Of course! My name is Call Me Loop (real name Georgia) and I'm a pop singer/songwriter. I tend to describe my music style as sassy, emotive electronic pop.

What do you try to do with your music and how do you achieve this?
I just use songwriting as a way of getting my emotions out into the world, like therapy! I don't really try to do anything with it, I just write what I'm feeling (usually too honestly) and then just hope that it connects with people. I have to write about my own experiences, in real time as I'm going through them, 'cos if I try to write about other people/anything that's not representative of how I'm feeling in that moment, then I just struggle to find the words.

Can you tell us what musical and non-musical influences have shaped your sound?
Musically, I'm very influenced by '90s/'00s pop - I grew up listening to Britney, Spice Girls, Christina Aguilera, Destiny's Child, All Saints, Michael Jackson etc. so I was always going to be a pop artist; it's what I know and what I love. But obviously I take inspiration from everything I'm listening to at the time, which could be anything from The Internet/The 1975/Rosalía/Amy Winehouse/LANY/6LACK/Tove Styrke...the list goes on! I definitely listen to 'mainstream' music more than indie/leftfield music but I like to mix it up or my brain gets a bit pop-fried.

With regards to non-musical influences/inspiration, I just write about my relationships; romantic (most of the time), friendships, work relationships... anything that causes me stress/sadness/anger/happiness - although more often than not it's the first three!

What should people expect from your Five Day Forecast show?
A lot of fun! I'll be bringing my full band and we'll be performing my recent releases as well as the upcoming EP tracks which are unheard as of yet (unless you came to my November show!). We'll be aiming to bring Friday Night Vibes to a Monday night.

What are you working on now/next?
So we're just putting the finishing touches to the EP at the moment which I'm so excited about. There'll be one more single release in January and then the EP will be coming out as a whole at the end of Feb, including "Business", the January single and three new tracks. So yeah, I'm just buzzing to be able to put out a body of work and a selection of songs in quick succession cos I get so impatient between releases always cos I just want everyone to hear everything! As well as my own releases, I'm also featuring on a couple of tracks at the start of the year so I can't wait for those either. Gonna kick 2019 off with a bang.

How is 2018 shaping up? What are you looking forward to next year?
2018 has been an absolutely amazing year. I've put out music that I'm so proud of and played some amazing shows, and I'm just so grateful for all the support I've had up until this point, whether it be from fans, streaming platforms, or radio. I feel like I've ended the year on a high with my recent sell-out show, which was just the most amazing night, and I'm so so excited for what 2019 is gonna bring. Next year I'm looking forward to more releases, festival season, and hopefully world domination, haha!
